To deliver smooth and high-quality lessons on Twenix, it’s important to make sure your device and connection are properly set up. Below you’ll find practical steps to reduce the chance of technical issues and keep your teaching experience seamless.
1. Browser & Permissions
- Use Google Chrome: Always use the latest version. Update via Menu > Help > About Google Chrome.
- Close unused tabs: Ideally, only have the Twenix platform tab open when using it
- Allow Microphone and Camera Access: Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Permissions.
- Clear Site Data Regularly: Settings > Privacy and Security > Site Settings > Clear data for Twenix.
2. Connection & Performance
- Recommended Speed: 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload for best performance.
- Use a Wired Connection: Ethernet cables provide the most stable performance.
- Favour 5GHz Wi-Fi: If on Wi-Fi, use the 5GHz band for better reliability.
- Limit Network Usage: Ask others in your household to reduce streaming or downloads during lessons.
- Disable Power Saving Modes: Make sure energy-saving settings aren’t limiting your device’s performance.
3. Quick Fixes for Common Issues
- Clear Cache and Cookies: Chrome Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear browsing data.
- Restart Computer and Router: Refresh both to restore a clean connection.
- Test Another Network: Try a mobile hotspot to see if the issue is home-network related.
- Close Conflicting Apps: Exit Zoom, Teams, or other apps using your mic/camera.
- Open Twenix in Incognito Mode (Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows / Cmd+Shift+N on Mac).
4. Device Optimisation Tips
- Use a Computer: Classes must be on laptop or desktop. (Mobile and tablet devices can only be used for transfers and availability changes.)
- Keep Your OS Updated: Install the latest Windows/macOS updates.
- Use a Quality Headset: Headsets with built-in microphones greatly improve audio.
- Close Background Apps: Free up resources for better video and audio quality.
5. Before Your Class
- Test your setup with Twenix’s in-class call settings test.
- Log in 5 minutes early to troubleshoot any last-minute issues.
- Have a backup plan, such as a mobile hotspot, in case your main connection drops.
