Professionalism & Respect
- Address students with professionalism—do not use terms of endearment (e.g., darling, honey, dear, love).
- Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language.
- Do not use Total Physical Response (TPR) techniques, as they can be condescending to adult learners.
- Respect students’ values and cultural traditions, and be mindful that making stereotypical assumptions can be offensive.
- Refrain from discussing sensitive topics such as politics, religion, or marital status, as these conversations may make students uncomfortable.
Fair & Inclusive Treatment
Treat all students equally and without bias. Any form of preferential treatment or discrimination based on race, nationality, ethnicity, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender, or any other characteristic is strictly prohibited.
Engagement & Encouragement
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
- Encourage participation and make lessons interactive.
Appearance & Environment
- Dress appropriately—formal attire is not required, but you should maintain a professional appearance.
- Ensure a tidy, non-distracting background. If this is not possible, use the platform’s background blur feature.
- Have good lighting and a clear camera image to enhance student experience.
Ethical & Responsible Behaviour
- Never share your personal contact details, including social media accounts, email addresses, blogs, websites, IDs, or usernames.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect students' privacy.
