This article explains what happens if you miss a class, what to do next, and how to avoid absences on the Twenix platform.
What happens if I miss a class?
If you miss a class, you will receive an email notification.
Any classes scheduled within the next two hours will automatically be moved to the transfer system. These classes remain your responsibility until another teacher accepts them.
What should I do after an absence?
Log into the platform as soon as possible, you can do this from desktop or mobile.
From there, you can:
Check whether any upcoming classes are in transfer
Retrieve a class if it has not yet been taken
Adjust your availability to prevent further absences
Do I need to explain why I missed a class?
No. Twenix does not require explanations or justifications for absences.
When can I continue teaching after an absence?
Only reopen slots once the issue that caused the absence has been fully resolved.
For example:
If you had internet issues, make sure they are fixed and your connection is reliable
If there was a setup problem, check your browser and permissions
This helps prevent repeated absences.
What are the consequences of absences?
Two or more absences may lead to removal from the platform
In some cases, a single absence may also lead to removal if other minimum standards are not being met
If you have an absence and no completed classes that week, your access to new bookings may be temporarily paused
In some cases, the team may adjust access to student levels taught
Absences can affect eligibility for some bonus programmes
If you believe a pause has been applied incorrectly, please contact Teacher Support.
Important rules to keep in mind
Teachers must be ready to start on time
After 4 minutes, a student can mark a teacher as absent
If the student does not do this, the system will automatically mark the teacher absent after 7 minutes
Any class marked “teacher absent” counts towards the rules above
After an absence, classes in the next two hours are placed into transfer
How can I reduce the risk of absences?
Scheduling
Only open slots you are sure you can teach
Always refresh the Classes tab before each slot
With last-minute bookings active, check your schedule within 15 minutes before every open slot
Technical setup
Run the call-settings test before your first class
Allow microphone and camera permissions in Chrome
Keep Chrome and your operating system up to date
Avoid VPNs or unnecessary browser extensions
Keep only essential tabs and programmes open
Make sure your device timezone matches your local time
Power and internet
Fully charge your device before teaching
Have a backup plan if power cuts are common
If your internet drops, log in from another device or mobile hotspot to transfer the class
