Teacher Notes help teachers keep track of important information about students' learning journey. They provide useful context for future classes and allow you to record observations while the information is still fresh.
Writing notes
You can write and edit your note directly from the classroom.
Your note is available while the editing period is open. Once that period ends, the note becomes read-only.
Depending on the lesson status, you may see one of the following:
| Status | What it means |
| Live call · Notes are open | The student is connected and you can edit your note. |
| Closes in... | The lesson has ended, but you can still make changes for a short time. |
| Notes locked · Waiting for call | Editing is not currently available. |
If you need more space while writing, drag the text box up or down to resize it.
Once the editing period ends, your note becomes read-only and can no longer be changed.
Understanding the notes list
Notes are organised to make your own notes easy to find.
Your notes
- Always appear at the top of the list.
- Are ordered by class date.
- Are highlighted with a blue border.
Other teachers' notes
Notes written by other teachers appear below yours and are also ordered by class date.
Older notes
Notes created before the current Teacher Notes system appear at the bottom of the list. These notes may not display an identified author.
Information shown in each note
Each note includes:
- the teacher who wrote it
- the class date and time
- the last time the note was updated
This helps you quickly identify the most recent information about the student.
