The Twenix classroom brings together everything you need to deliver your class, communicate with your student, provide corrections and feedback, and access useful information during the lesson.
Let's take a quick look around so you know where everything is and what to do before, during and after your class.
Entering the classroom
You can enter the classroom from 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
If you are having trouble entering:
- Make sure the class starts in 10 minutes or less. Before this, the classroom entry button will not be active.
- If you cannot see the classroom entry button, try zooming out your browser window.
- Check this article to ensure your setup is optimised.

Getting familiar with the classroom
Once inside, you can adjust the classroom to suit what you need during the lesson.
The different areas of the classroom give you access to your student, lesson content, questions and the other tools you will use while teaching.
You can also resize different areas of the classroom. For example, you can expand or reduce the student section depending on how much space you need.
The split-screen layout also allows you to view the Content and Questions sections side by side, making it easier to work with the lesson material and questions at the same time.
Before the call
Complete the call-settings test
Before connecting with your student, we recommend completing the call-settings test in every class.
You can only run this test while the call is not connected.
This allows you to check that your camera, microphone and other call settings are ready before the lesson begins. Completing the test in each class also provides useful information if you later need to contact Support about a technical issue.
Say hello
Completed your test but your student has not arrived yet? You can send them a welcome message in the chat.
Your student will see the message when they enter the classroom, letting them know that you are already there and ready to begin.
Get connected
When your student enters the classroom:
- The call button will change from grey to green.
- A message will appear in the chat telling you that your student has entered.
Click the green call button to start your call.
Sending corrections
You can use the classroom chat to communicate with your student throughout the lesson.
You can send a normal message or, when providing a correction, select the appropriate category before sending it.
Categorised corrections appear in the chat with a coloured background. These corrections are saved to the student's Timeline, allowing the student and their future Tweachers to review them later.
Normal chat messages sent without a category selected are not saved to the student's Timeline.
Check your student's information
The classroom gives you access to useful information about your student to help you adapt the lesson appropriately.
During the class, you can consult the student's information and previous learning history where available.
This can help you understand their previous corrections and learning journey without having to leave the classroom.
Using Teacher Notes
You can also access Teacher Notes from the classroom.
Teacher Notes allow Tweachers to share useful information that may help future teachers prepare for and manage classes with the student.
Technical difficulties
If you experience a technical issue during your class, first:
- Check your equipment and internet connection.
- Refresh your browser.
- If necessary, you can also refresh your student's browser manually from the + menu.
- Use the chat to communicate with your student while you work through the issue.
Try to resolve the problem with your student wherever possible so that you can continue the lesson.
Evaluating your student
You do not need to wait until the end of the lesson to start your evaluation.
You can evaluate how your student has performed against the lesson objective and skills by opening the Student tab at any point during the class.
Remember that 3 stars is the benchmark and means that the student is performing as expected for their current level.
Finishing your class
At the end of the lesson, make sure that you complete and submit the student's evaluation and any required feedback.
If you have experienced a problem that means the class cannot be completed normally, make sure you use the appropriate reporting option rather than leaving the class unfinished.
