Golden Rules for your first lesson
- Always make sure you only use the most up to date version of Google Chrome for your work on the Twenix browser. Check how to update your browser here!
- Only open slots you’re sure you can teach.
- Always run the Call Settings Test before class.
- Review the lesson content and student profile in advance.
- Submit the evaluation before leaving the class.
1. Opening Your Availability
- Only open slots you know you can cover — transfers are not always guaranteed.
- Check the platform regularly for bookings. Once you’re comfortable, you can also enable last-minute or transfer classes.
2. Setting Up for Success
- Equipment: Use a reliable computer, headset, camera, and strong internet connection (wired preferred). Keep a backup device ready.
- Environment: Make sure your space is quiet, well-lit, and tidy. Let anyone you live with know you’ll be working.
3. Preparing Your Lesson
- Content: Review the topic, objectives, vocabulary, and questions in the class materials.
- Student info: Check the student’s profile and timeline for goals, interests, and recent corrections.
- Previous notes: Look at feedback left by other teachers to continue their progress.
4. Before Starting the Call
- Double-check the date and time of the class.
- Run the Call Settings Test from the “+” menu in the classroom.
- Send a welcome message in the chat to show the student you’re ready.
