The Classroom Chat allows you to communicate with your student during a lesson. You can use it to send messages, share corrections, and keep track of important events during the class.
Sending messages
To send a message:
- Type your message in the chat box.
- Press Ctrl + Enter (Windows) or Cmd + Enter (Mac) to send it.
If you want to start a new line without sending the message, press Enter.
Understanding the chat
The chat displays messages from both you and your student.
- Your messages appear with a blue background.
- Student messages appear with a grey background.
- Each message includes the sender's name and the time it was sent.
The chat may also display automatic connection messages when someone joins or leaves the class. These help you understand the participant's connection status during the lesson.
Sending corrections
You can categorise corrections before sending them to your student.
There are two ways to do this:
- Type your correction first, then select the appropriate correction category before sending it.
- Select a correction category first, then type your correction.
Once you've selected a category, it will remain active until you send the message.
Please note:
- Only one correction category can be applied to each message.
- After the correction is sent, the selected category is automatically cleared.
- If you want to use a different category, simply select it before sending your next correction.
Tips
- Use the chat to provide clear written corrections while speaking with your student.
- If you're writing a longer message, press Enter to add new lines and improve readability.
