TailorTalk classes are conversation classes designed to help students work on their most common speaking mistakes.
These classes are based on an AI analysis of the student’s recent lessons. The system identifies the key areas the student needs to improve and builds the class around them.
What makes TailorTalk different?
In a normal class, the focus is general conversation.
In a TailorTalk class:
- The lesson is guided by the student’s most frequent errors
- You will focus your feedback on specific areas
- The student expects targeted correction and support
This means your role is not just to lead a conversation, but to actively listen for and correct those key errors.
What you will see in the classroom
1. Content box (check this first)
The content box highlights:
- The 3 main areas the student needs to improve
- Real examples of mistakes from previous classes
This is the most important part of the lesson. It tells you what to focus on.
2. Questions
The lesson includes conversation questions based on a topic (for example, travel or hobbies).
These are similar to standard microcourse questions and are used to guide the conversation.
3. Correction notes
After each question, you will see a note explaining:
- What type of error to listen for
- What to focus on when giving feedback
These notes are based on the areas shown in the content box.
4. Examples (when available)
Some questions include useful phrases that you can share with the student if needed.
How to teach a TailorTalk class
Before the class:
- Read the content box carefully
- Identify the 3 key error types
During the class:
- Listen actively for these specific errors
- Guide the conversation so the student has opportunities to use these areas
- Correct the student when these errors appear
After the class:
- Make sure your feedback reflects the focus areas from the lesson
The student is expecting feedback that is clearly linked to their mistakes.
Example
For example, if the content box shows issues with past tenses:
- Pay close attention when the student talks about past experiences
- Check whether their sentences are clear and correct
- Help them improve how they express these ideas
Common questions
Do I still follow the lesson questions?
Yes. The questions guide the conversation, but your main focus should be on the errors in the content box.
What if the student does not make the expected errors?
You can still guide the conversation to create opportunities for those structures to appear. Focus on the same areas where possible.
Is this very different from a normal class?
The structure is similar, but the focus is more specific. You should give more targeted feedback than in a standard class.
Do I need to correct every mistake?
No. Focus on the key areas identified in the content box rather than correcting everything.
TailorTalk classes are designed to give students more personalised support and help them improve faster.
